Here are our suggestions when looking for the best big man recliner to fit your needs.
There are several things to take into consideration when picking a reliner for the larger person.

* Weight capacity. Most standard recliners on only rated for 250 lbs. Normally if recliners are rated for higher that 250 lbs they will let you know. Most recliners are reated for one of the following rates. 250 lbs, 350 lbs, 400 lbs or 500 lbs.

*Extended length. For the taller person you will want a recliners that is rated from 72" to 80" extended length. This can however some times be deceptive. Some recliners may show 72" extended length, but from the back of the seat to the front of the footrest is only 38". With a 38" measurment from the back of the seat to the front of the foot rest most people 6 ft tall would have their feet sticking way over the end of the foot rest.

*Measurement from back of seat to front of footrest (Just footrest up. Not Reclined). These measurements usually range from 36" to 43". An Average 6 ft. 4 in. man would usually have their feet fully supported on one that is 43 inches in this measurement. For the person over six feet tall, it us usually best to get one that is at least 40 inches from back of seat to front of the foot rest.

Seat Dimensions. Make sure the seat is wide enough so you can be comfortable. Also if the seat is to high, your feet will not touch the ground and if too deep your knees will want to bend before they reach the front of the seat.
